Three chaperones and seven students from Cristo Rey Jesuit College Preparatory School of Houston will travel to Philadelphia to witness the Pope’s first U.S. visit.
The team members shared their passion and excitement about traveling to Philadelphia with media representing five Houston media outlets.
“This is an amazing experience and our excitement about witnessing this is difficult to put into words,” said Father Anthony Wieck, SJ.
While attending the festivities is exciting enough, the team will be videotaping and photographing the pilgrimage for an upcoming documentary on Cristo Rey Jesuit.
The project, more than six months in the making, includes interviews, video, and photography by Cristo Rey Jesuit students.
The Papal to Philadelphia is part of the World Meeting of Families tour. The Pope’s U.S. visit also includes a Congressional address.
The students traveling to Philadelphia went through a rigorous selection process that included their expression about the Pope and their Jesuit faith.
