When student Joseph F. recently headed off to the flag football state championships, he had a special team pulling for him. His corporate work-study employer Key Energy Services LLC. One would expect that his family and the Cristo Rey Jesuit community would automatically be cheering him on. But Key Energy Services’ going the extra mile for this student is just one example of what makes the company a great partner.
Kim Schormann-O’Neal is a Performance Management Specialist at the company. She says the Key team was excited to cheer Joseph on by decorating his desk before the playoffs.
“Joseph has an amazing team attitude. It is fun for us that we can support the Lions. This is Joseph’s 2nd year with our group. He also interned over the summer. He has been a great asset to our team. He is always willing to learn something new and work on team projects. He is an excellent employee and has an awesome attitude.”
Schormann-O’Neal has some advice for companies who have entry-level jobs to fill, but may be hesitant about hiring a student worker.
“Cristo Rey students are great kids and are equipped with office and etiquette skills. It is a great experience to watch a student develop additional skills on the job.”
