In an event filled with laughter, joy, and thunderous applause, Cristo Rey Jesuit’s class of 2016 graduated in front of a packed crowd at the Revention Music Center today.
The event, which featured Texas Supreme Court Justice Eva Guzman as the featured speaker, included several tributes to the school’s beloved founding president, Father TJ Martinez, SJ.
Guzman, the proud daughter of immigrant parents with elementary school educations, said her parents always pushed them to be excellent, no matter what!
“When you work hard, dream big, and make the right choices, extraordinary things can happen to ordinary people,” she said.
The 100% college acceptance this class achieved means every graduate of Cristo Rey Jesuit has been accepted into a college or university.
This year’s class raised an impressive 9.5 million dollars in scholarships.
We’re so proud of each one of you!
