Forming Men and Women for Others

Nearly 600 Cristo Rey Jesuit students, faculty and staff members were men and women for others at 18 sites around Houston in November as part of our annual Building the Kingdom Day of Service — a tradition started by our late Founding President Fr. TJ Martinez, SJ. Some of the Cristo Rey Jesuit community good deeds included preparing meals at Loaves & Fishes Soup Kitchen, sorting clothes, cleaning up several parks, and working at several elementary schools and at a retirement home. The time spent helping at each location not only helped to fulfill the school’s mission to form men and women for others, but all of the volunteer hours were applied toward the Texans and NFL goal of inspiring volunteers to donate 100 minutes of community service to help shape our community for the next 100 years.
