Gratitude trees, designed by math teacher Chrystal Hunter, were delivered recently to organizations that depicted Men and Women for Others during Houston’s recent winter storm. On Go Texan Day, students in Ms. Hunter’s classes selected Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Houston Fire Department (HFD) Station 36, Houston METRO, Memorial Hermann, H-E-B, and Jim McIngvale (Mattress Mack) as recipients of the gratitude trees. Ms. Hunter accompanied two juniors to delivered the trees, which included handwritten thank you notes from the students, with pictures of students on the back of the notes. During delivery to the Houston Mayor’s Office (Mayor Turner read every note out loud), METRO, and HFD Station 36, it was amazing to see how much each organization appreciated Cristo Rey Jesuit students for thanking them. Coordination of delivery of the trees to the other organizations was underway after posting this article.
