Students Brighten Rocking Chairs for Elementary School Reading Program

Students at Clemente Martinez Elementary School will have new rocking chairs in their library and classrooms thanks to students in art teacher David Graeve’s art classes, who are refurbishing donated rocking chairs for the elementary school — being men and women for others. The project is being coordinated with Hope Stone, an art education outreach program, to strengthen student reading skills at the elementary school. They will be used for celebrity reading events when the Barbara P. Bush Literacy Guild makes their monthly visits to read.
