Why Cristo Rey Jesuit

For those of you who are considering enrolling your child in our school, we recognize that making decisions about your child’s education is a top priority. Cristo Rey Jesuit offers an affordable, private, Catholic, high school education and a clear path to college. Our mission is to empower your child to reach his or her full potential. We accomplish that through a combination of strong academics, a unique work-study model, a wide variety of extracurricular activities, and an emphasis on values that will assist our students on their journey of life.

We are looking for students who possess the following qualities

  • Will be at least 14 years old by September 1 of their 9th grade year
  • Want a faith based, college-preparatory education
  • Possess a history of at least average grades and attendance
  • Demonstrate a desire to attend a school that demands time, effort, discipline, attention, and maturity
  • Should be “employable” — possessing the maturity and work ethic necessary to be successful in an office environment with adults
  • Should be able to present the necessary documentation to work
  • Have financial need — Every Cristo Rey Jesuit student receives financial assistance. Every applicant must submit copies of 2018 income tax forms and 2019 W-2 forms to determine eligibility for admission to Cristo Rey Jesuit

In order to assess a student’s academic potential for success, we review the following

6th, 7th and 8th Grade
  • Grades
  • STARR/Stanford/Iowa
  • Possess a history of at least average grades and attendance

In order to assess a student’s academic potential and fit in the Corporate Work-Study Program, we review the following

  • 3 Letters of recommendation –
    Math, English and Principal/Counselor
  • Student Information Insert
  • Student Interview

Students that have not been successful at Cristo Rey Jesuit are

  • Not able to adapt to the increasing demands of a college prep curriculum
  • Not able to work independently in the workplace
  • Not willing to take advantage of support services, such as daily tutoring


The amount of tuition for each student is determined on a sliding scale based on the family’s annual income. Families are required to submit financial documents, including but not limited to the previous year’s completed income tax return and the current year’s W-2 forms.

The rates below apply to students first admitted in the 2020-2021 school year:

Over 50%
of the cost to educate a student will be earned through participation in the Corporate Work-Study Program
